Plant Pest Risks: Challenges and Opportunities in a Changing World
We are pleased to announce that the International Pest Risk Research Group will be hosting its 2025 meeting in Malaysia in association with CABI and Cervantes Agritech. The meeting will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 27th to 30th of October 2025, at the Palm Garden Hotel.
Pest risk analysis is an essential tool in the global biosecurity toolkit. IPRRG 2025 provides the ideal opportunity to connect with leading scientists, expert plant pest and invasive species risk assessors, biosecurity researchers, risk managers and phytosanitary policy makers from around the world. Together, participants will learn of the latest advances in pest risk analysis and recent developments of PRA tools to address emerging threats to plant health and biodiversity.

Call for Abstracts: We invite researchers, scientists, practitioners, policymakers, and all stakeholders with an interest in pest risk modelling and mapping to submit abstracts for oral presentations or posters. The conference will cover a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Collaborative approaches in pest risk modelling and mapping
- Capacity building initiatives and training programs
- Advances in data collection and integration for more accurate risk assessments
- Socio-economic factors and their impact on pest risk management
- Innovative methodologies for pest risk analysis and prediction
- Case studies highlighting successful collaborations and capacity building efforts
- Policy implications and regulatory frameworks for pest risk management
We encourage abstract submissions that reflect both theoretical and practical aspects of pest risk modelling and mapping, drawing from diverse disciplines and perspectives. The abstract should clearly outline the research objectives, methods, results, and implications for advancing our understanding of pest risk management.

Meeting Registration: The registration fee covers all sessions, a full-day technical excursion, coffee/tea service, lunches on all days and one group dinner. The fee schedule is shown below.

Accommodations: The meeting will be held at the Palm Garden Hotel, Putrajaya. The hotel is located in IOI Resort City, ~40 km from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and ~25 km from downtown Kuala Lumpur.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Palm Garden Hotel that are available at a group rate of 351.85 MYR per night (~72 Euro, ~83 USD, ~128 AUD).
