We are pleased to announce the first IPRRG meeting in Latin America! IPRRG 2026 will be held on the campus of Universidad Zamarano, Honduras, from Monday 19 October through Thursday 22 October. We are working to put together an agenda that will appeal to pest risk researchers, practitioners, and students alike. In addition to technical sessions, we are planning a field excursion to nearby Uyuca Biological Reserve, potential visits to campus agricultural areas and other facilities, as well as a workshop for undergraduate students (“Opportunities for plant protection: a global approach”). The student workshop is being organized in collaboration with the North American Plant Protection Organization (NAPPO) and Organismo Internacional Regional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (OIRSA).
More details will be made available as we get closer to finalizing the agenda. Regardless, we hope that you will join us in October!
Abstracts
Abstract submissions (for oral or poster presentations) will be accepted through 2 October 2026. Any pest risk-related topic may be suitable, but we anticipate that the oral presentation sessions will be organized primarily around several themes: Innovations in Pest Risk Modelling, Policy and Decision Support Tools, Stakeholder Engagement in Pest Risk Management, Case Studies on Successful Pest Risk Management and Emerging Threats in Plant Health. Please limit your abstracts to 250 words or less.

Meeting Registration
We have strived to keep registration costs reasonable, especially for students, but the best value will come from registering early! The registration fee covers all sessions, the full-day technical excursion, coffee/tea service, lunches on all days and one group dinner.

Proceedings
Proceedings from the meeting will be published in Portal de al Ciencia, a peer-reviewed journal edited by UNAH Science Faculty. Author guidelines are forthcoming, as is the submission deadline.
Accommodations
Centro Kellogg (Kellogg Centre), which is on the Universidad Zamarano campus. We have reserved a block of single and double occupancy rooms. We will provide information soon about reserving rooms at the IPRRG 2026 group rate.
Traveling to IPRRG 2026
Attendees from outside Honduras will most likely arrive via Palmerola International Airport in Comayagua (to the northwest of Tegucigalpa). We will provide more information later regarding transportation and logistics.
