Tarek's research has focused on the application of economic theory and analysis to problems of environmental and natural resource management, in particular, biosecurity, climate change mitigation, and water quality management. He has developed economic simulation models that assess the effects of proposed interventions to inform policy development. Tarek holds a PhD degree from Wageningen University, the Netherlands.
